WAVE Endorsement Process
* The endorsement process for the 2024 general elections is now closed. The final list of endorsed candidates will be complete by the end of September and we will publish our ballot guide shortly there after. Thank you to everyone who applied for endorsement and to our members and supporters who donated to WAVE to support these candidates.
Thank you for your interest in receiving an endorsement from WAVE for your candidacy for office.
At this time, we only accept endorsement applications (both solicited and unsolicited) from candidates running in the county of Orange in the state of California. We currently do not entertain inquiries or requests for endorsements outside of Orange County, California.
To be eligible for WAVE’s endorsement, each candidate must:
- Be aligned with WAVE’s stated core values, ethics, and causes.
- Be available for a short interview (in person or via zoom).
- Have demonstrated viability to win their seat.
- Receive sufficient positive feedback from WAVE members expressing support for their race.
If you believe you meet our criteria for endorsement, we invite you to complete our endorsement questionnaire. This can be requested by emailing endorsement@wave4all.org.
Please note that not all endorsed candidates will receive full, financial support, but all endorsed candidates will receive ample publicity through WAVE’s widespread outreach and communications received by members, supporters, donors, and fellow candidates.
About WAVE Endorsements
WAVE is a nonpartisan political action committee that aims to advance political candidates, organizations and policies that support progressive American values and ethics.
WAVE uses a defined process to identify, vet, and endorse candidates that support WAVE’s ethics and values on national, state, county, and local levels. WAVE’s strategy is not to endorse in every race, but to identify key races and candidates that align most strongly with WAVE and prioritize those races that have the most impact.
In order to qualify for endorsement, candidates must have a proven track record of advancing economic opportunity for our communities; supporting affordable housing and healthcare; upholding the rights of vulnerable populations; protecting reproductive rights; supporting climate science and environmental advocacy; protecting public education; and, advocating for responsible gun ownership and commonsense gun legislation.
