School Culture Wars

Please join us on Thursday, November 18th at 7:00 P.M as we discuss the coordinated ground swell by the far right to systematically target local school boards and administrative offices with their baseless, fear mongering, claims of Critical Race Theory being taught in the public schools.

CRT, is a decades old academic framework that’s become a catch-all term for everything Republicans dislike about diversity initiatives, how schools teach history and other ripple effects from last year’s reckoning on racial injustice ignited by the murder of George Floyd. Join us as we hear from local school administrators, school board members and educators about the pressure they are facing in this newest attempt by the right to intimidate, threaten and bully them to abandon and derail a balanced, inclusive, comprehensive education curriculum.

We will also hear from a retired school superintendent on the origins Critical Race Theory and how this theory has become distorted and repackaged as a tool to amplify a racist agenda by the right. This Meeting is important for all members regardless of whether or not you have school aged children because this issue has become the leading strategy in the 2022 midterm elections. We need to be able to speak to this growing mis-information campaign that has taken hold in school school districts across the country.
